What is not being said is the pressure associated
with this well is so high they cannot fully cap it,
why do you think they have not sealed it of, they
can't. :- :- :-

Mother Nature helping with the clean-up ..... as usual?

http://abcnews.go.com/WN/bp-oil-spill-crude-mother-nature-breaks-slick/story?id=11254252
For 86 days, oil spewed into the Gulf of Mexico from BP's damaged well, dumping some 200 million gallons of crude into sensitive ecosystems. BP and the federal government have amassed an army to clean the oil up, but there's one problem -- they're having trouble finding it.

What happened, silver?

Haven't heard anything about it or is it being kept secret by the government?

Silverhair, thanks for posting. I learned something today.

One would hope that the operators have learned from the BP disaster and that they have safeguards in place for the Central Coast.
If one of the comments is correct, that there is 42% youth unemployment, it may be an answer for some extra jobs.
On the other hand, it could well destroy a beautiful part of the coast if a disaster should happen.

Keeping fingers crossed that all goes well.

Its so wrong to find that Peter Garret signed the OK on this last year and the people of CC are just finding out about it.

I qam being told this will bring jobs but I cant see it being good for the area.

How come the press or council didn't announce it?
Sounds like a bit of covert action on someones part!
Not good if the people weren't told. :hitting_wall

Thanks silverhair for the link.
It seems amazing that eight pollies are against it and yet Garrret has signed on the dotted line.

What is that guy doing? He must still be drinking 'midnight oil'!

I hope that amongst the 8 objecting pollies there are some who will act and not just talk.

Good luck.....GF :handgestures-thumbsupright:

Unfortunately, the Central Coast issue is really bogged down by State decisions.
Garrett could and would not sign such a document in his own right.
I don't have much time for the fellow but he has to abide by his portfolio which will be taken away from him when Gillard wins.

If Abbott comes out and declares that the NBN is off his menu, I will vote LABOR for certain!
