Election 2010

Postby arcturian » 30/07/10 12:07

Last night I watched Penny Wong on the ABC's 7.30 Report.
She is dusted down and put back into the front-line - still didn't see any sight of Peter Garrett.
And I see very little of Swan - I am sure they hiding him as much as they can - maybe worried that
he is going to drop his pants on national TV if somebody asks him to count up till 21.
Anyway, I am impressed by Penny's new look! Joolya must have lent her her make-up artist, she is all made up in soft,
pink hues - very girlie indeed. Oh, you ask what she was saying...? Same old, same old .... :icon_razz:

Did she say "Fair dinkum" seven times like Abbott did during the 'big boring debate' ?

I'm worried about the pink hues too .... but not surprised as the robot P Wong is a genuine "pinkie" (for those of you old enough to remember the term). I'm a little surprised it wasn't red hues. think-smiley

No GF, she didn't say "fair dinkum" - not even once as there was nothing fair dinkum about what she was saying.
What surprised me is that she was even mentioning this stupid idea of Citizen's Assembly (I thought they would
drop it like a hot potato - the idea is just insane!) but no, she said: "what's important here, is this, Julia Gillard has said she will lead this debate.
She has said 'I, Julia, will lead this debate, I want to build the sort of consensus this type of reform needs." I read that as Julia WILL make sure
the debate will go the way she wants it to go. I have heard there also will be a 5 member "independent" panel! - what do they take me for!!
"Independent" - really! Those 150 people will be hammered until they come up with the "right" solution.

Don, did you se Julia yesterday - her rosy cheeks had two distinctive red spots on them. (I would sack my make-up artist!) :icon_razz:

the 150 panel is nothing but a farce , When What went Wong was asked if the panel's would result would be accepted she said no, so why waste the time and money ,they treat us like idiots and we let them By the way I emailed 8 pollies 6 weeks ago and I got one answer , and that was to tell me that when the illegals arrive and have not been given protection , get no access to centrelink but that the Asylum Seeker Assistance Scheme , administered by the Red Cross provides the financial help to those unable to meet there most basic needs for food accomodation, and health care,as well as torture and trauma counselling costs

Give me a break ,it matters not who administers what , it is still Aussies taxes that are paying for it all and since when did Sensodine toothpaste ,foxtel , mobile phones and God knows whatall else, become the essentials of life , or are all the footage we see on these people figments of our imagination

donander - I must be too young because I don't know what a 'pinkie' is other than a little finger! think-smiley
I am surprised that Wong wears pink, 'cause she is a known lesso!

Arcty - I agree a conference with 155 'elders' won't make a difference at all if they don't accept what has been proposed.

Dusty - That is sort of typical of all pollies. They want you to make suggestions and then discard anything that wasn't their own ideas.
I am surprised that you did get an answer. They are all soooooo busy and have no time to attend to complaints.
You are right, Red Cross is only administering the funds which are from our taxes. :hitting_wall :hitting_wall :hitting_wall

Still waiting for my local Federal Labor member to answer my question about the government's stance on the "pushing of positive Islam" in Australian schools.
http://blogs.news.com.au/couriermail/andrewbolt/index.php/couriermail/comments/teaching_children_that_fear_of_terrorism_is_racist/

EVERY Australian school student would be taught positive aspects about Islam and Muslims - and that Australia is a racist country - under a proposal by an education think tank.

The plan is outlined in the Learning From One Another: Bringing Muslim Perspectives into Australian Schools booklet, published during the week by the Australian Curriculum Studies Association and the University of Melbourne’s Centre for Excellence in Islamic Studies.

It says there is a “degree of prejudice and ignorance about Islam and Muslims”, and Australian students must be taught to embrace difference and diversity.

The booklet refers to the al-Qai’da of Osama bin Laden as “a famous name” synonymous with the traditionalist movement in Islam. It makes no reference to terrorism.

It says “most texts used in Australian English classes still have a Western or European perspective”.

I am sick of hearing - from the enemy within - that Australia is a racist country.
If anyone wants to see a truly racist country visit any Muslim country! :flaming_mad

Such barbaric practices can only confirm that those people are unfit to exist in our world and they should be exterminated in like manner . Neanderthals had better morals !

True, true and true.

I have been to several Muslim countries but as a guest you don't see those things and no one talks about it openly to you.
I have found the merchants and traders very, very honest and their handshake is their word (say: contract). In that respect
I would trust a Muslim more than some European traders.

....but, but there are problems with the fanatical clerics, who breath Islam and nothing else. Like in every race/religion you will
get good, bad and ugly. In Islam, the ugly are also bad and the good ones are all living in a world of their own.

Stoneing is barbaric to the utmost degree. I would like to see some of the Muslim clerics being burried to the neck and then kicked in the head.
They'd blabber for their lives, I'll bet. B.......ds! :angry-devil:

I would like the bad and the ugly stay in their own world and not in ours. Surely it's not too much to ask ...

BTW - I have a feeling Kevin's chances to join the UN is looking up ... He was saying that he will be back
campaigning next week, but yesterday his wife said that he will be recovering the next two weeks (on
doctor's advice) - there is 3 weeks left from the campaign - it is quite possible that he will not run -
to the great relieve of his Party - but will ship overseas to sit with the other useless administrators in the UN -
he will fit right in and he can prance on the world-stage, meeting with head of states, etc, which he
loves to do, the narcissistic little fink.

I would not like to live in a country where these things happen, where if you pass one of these women (or men, some of them cop it) who are buried for stoning, if you don't pick up a stone and throw it you are liable to end up in the same boat. Some might take pleasure in the cruelty, just as we have a proportion of senseless yobboes. Some might be brainwashed that this is God's will. The large proportion don't want to be there, they are victims of the system, they are scared and disgusted, and we are blaming the victims.

We should also bear in mind that this does not happen in many Muslim countries, and even in some where it does happen it is illegal - but that is over-ridden by the will of fanatical clergy.
