That bloody word

Chrysanthemum

Ok. What kind of word, grammar or spelling Nazi came up with this bloody word? Difficult to spell and the only time I can pronounce it correctly is if I am pissed.

Well I just had to investigate!
chrysanthemum
1550s, from Latin chrysanthemum,
from Greek khrysanthemon "marigold,"
. . literally "golden flower,"
. . . . from khrysos "gold" (see chrysalis, gold-colored pupa of a butterfly, from khrūsos, gold)
. . plus anthemon "a flower,"
. . . . from Proto-Indo-European *andh- "bloom" (see anther, the pollen-bearing part at the upper end of the stamen of a flower.).
I dream, therefore I am.
