Re: Perry
so does that mean you have not been able to upload anything to any site?
can you email photos?
send me a killer photo of your warehouse filled with oak barrel moonshine,
or that pic of the water pouring down the hill and i'll set something up for you.

Re: Perry
I'm so happy with my iphone and ipad. I smashed my PC up last week as either of them can do far more than that PC ever could. My instagram account is iphone photos only. I take, edit and post my photos on my device as easy as all wattsit now. #justsaying

Re: Perry
Buck......I tried tinypic and I failed. So that's a no......maybe.
Tinypic does say it's compatible with iphone/pad/pod. I must try posting somewhere else. Maybe it's Silverpeers that just doesn't like hosted Apple pics.

Re: Perry
Ok so now we are all familar with re sizing a pic, there is one more concept to grapple with:
It is called 'Compression' and it is used to reduce the file size of pics.
in a photo editor like paintshop Pro compression is ranked from 1 to 10 , with 10 being the greatest compression.
Compression is used everywhere to reduce file size and speed up downloads,-facebook applies a massive amount of compression to pics
to save bandwidth.
Here at silver peers the 'attachments' thingy could have a file size limit, - it could be around 256kb

Re: Perry
For everybody's information, the max dimension for uploading "Attachments" is 1000 x 800 pixels!
It is the size that Perry has set in the back panel and it can be adjusted by any moderator if NECESSARY!
Until recently, we have never had the need to adjust the max sizing because we did not need the very fine details.
I love the pictures posted by Buck and I do appreciate the time and effort Buck has taken to obtain the quality that we now see
here in our forum. The only drawback is that quality graphics use up a swag of bandwidth, which in turn made the forum slow at times.
Personally, I can't see the need to have large pictures in extremely detailed format on a forum unless you specialise in photography.
To me a smaller picture often is sufficient to demonstrate the point one wants to make!

Please accept the above as an explanation and not a criticism!

The devil whispered, “You cannot withstand the storm“ and I replied: “I am the storm!”.....Unknown.

Re: Perry
I think Dukey's problem was trying to upload a pic from his Apple Mac to an external photo host like tiny pic or imgur.
For some reason the Mac won't cooperate, and if you google the problem others have had the same issue.

Re: Perry
And incidently when I posted that pic recently I remembered GF saying it was 1000 x 800 pixels and made mine that size and SPs told me it was too big. I knocked 200 pixels off all round and it was accepted. Just saying
I think you may be right about the compression thingy theory though Buck.
