Site Security

Post by Perrorist » 15 Dec 2017, 18:42

Since moving the site, I've added an SSL certificate. This means the site address is now https:/www.silverpeers.com. However, I've made some changes that mean that if you use the old address (http://www.silverpeers.com) it will automatically take you to the secure site.

SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer. It is a protocol that creates a secure connection between a client and the server over which to send information. Communications between our browsers and the site server are encrypted and secure from snooping by those who have nefarious motives.

Perry, should I just keep using the old address, unless you advise otherwise?

By the way, thank you for all the work you do, and I appreciated the emails keeping me up to date.

Thanks, Trishia. Yes, you can keep using the old address. I did suggest people change their shortcuts, then I realised I could sort that out for them myself, so I did.

If you type in www.silverpeers.com it will automatically connect via https://www.silverpeers.com. I made it do that.
