Climate Change V2000.....?

Post by godfather » 19 Jun 2017, 22:05

If you are still battling to accept Climate Change as a reality, then dig your teeth into these facts:

And if you have some time to spare write to your nearest MP and point his nose into the direction of facts.
If enough of us do that, then we may eventually convince the 'Komrades' Turnbull, Bishop, Abetz, Dutton, Abbott etc

Eventually convince them GF. It would be like talking to a post. :hitting_wall :hitting_wall

Yes Slapsy, and if that isn't tough enough we now also have a half-baked US President who doesn't care one way or another.

Sometimes I just want to get off this hurdy-gurdie!

The facts are irrefutable but very uncomfortable, which is why they're ignored or disbelieved. The extent of the denial is criminal and future generations (however many they may be) will curse us for it.

Agreed 100% and said so many years ago.
We may not have lost the war on CC as yet but without quick and strong actions from all quarters I can see the crossbones coming closer daily.

Just hope that the 10 new livable Planets just discovered by NASA can provide a safe haven for mankind's future!

Unfortunately, we could never build enough ships (even if we discover a FTL drive) to transport humanity to another planet. Best we could do would be to establish a colony with a survivable population so that when our earth dies ( and takes the rest of us with it) the species would live on.

That's exactly what Stephen Hawking said.
He wants to colonise the Moon and Mars quickly.
Bright young fellow is Stephen!

Many people do not care. It is important that those of us who do care do not give up without a fight. It gets so frustrating arguing with fools. People are fond of inventing their own dodgy tired explanations like climate has always been changing. I am not aware of anyone ever denying that but the evidence for serious repercussions without action impressive and science serves us better than sceptics.
This contempt for science astonishes me
Vaccinations, climate change our dying oceans are the playground of sceptics.
Throw them all the evidence and they stubbornly refuse to think.

I wanted to add the absurdity of sceptics citing hypocricy. A good example is the attack on great guys like Al Gore taking a plane.
I think its a very long bow.
I find we are all guilty of levels of hypocricy if you want to call it that. I love animals but I am guilty of eating fish.i struggle to be a complete vegan.

Geoengineering is the deliberate large-scale intervention in the Earth’s natural systems to counteract climate change.

Why Consider It? Reducing emissions of greenhouse gases is the safest way to counter climate change. While mitigation is necessary – indeed essential – it may not be sufficient to maintain a stable climate and healthy oceans.

Drawdown is a concept that removes carbon from the air through revised farming methods. Soil captures carbon very effectively, as do forests. Mixing trees with arable land is also a useful and desirable measure. Meanwhile, land clearing continues in Australia and elsewhere.

Unfortunately, these methods require enforcement at both national and international level, and this isn't forthcoming. Denial is entrenched at high levels of government and in corporations that benefit by ignoring the evidence.

Other steps outlined in the geo-engineering links are causing a lot of controversy. The deliberate alteration of climate might serve one nation at the expense of others?
