Richard Flanagan's National Press Club speech

Post by Leonie » 26 Apr 2018, 13:27

I missed this speech when it was live just over a week ago, but a poster on another forum put up this link to a text version. I'm so glad she did. It's a bit long but well worth the read if you have the time and, like me, missed it originally.

I keep thinking of that old song about being able to see inside someone's head. I think this bloke has the gift, 'cause it feels like he's looked inside mine. What do you all think about his view of the world these days?

It is a great speech, one that will not be understood by those who most need to hear it.

Sadly, I think you might be right.

Thanks for the link, Leonie. I did hear his speech and was mightily impressed.
If you don't have an ASIO file by now then you should be ashamed of yourself.
