The world still turned

Post by mavisbramston » 23 Jun 2018, 08:37

So far there have been just over 2,500 same sex marriages in Australia.
NOTHING has changed. No cake shop owners being held at gun point to bake cakes for same sex couples, no churches being forced to marry gay folk (most gay men would not want to marry in church...lousy decor, bad drag and badly written texts)
The sky has not fallen in. What a wank that expensive plebicite was. That money could have been used to help our Australian wild life!

How long before we see domestic violence, messy divorces, custody battles over the cat? :eek

So what's different about that? Friend's daughter was for years in a same sex relationship that eventually failed. She is now with a male partner and has a child to him. Perhaps it's more about finding someone you're compatible with, than their gender. Also interesting is the Indian history here - https://the-numinous.com/native-american-two-spirits/

.....and in a world where many people are disappointed with their partners, same sex or otherwise, wouldn't it be nice to allow marriages between a person and their pet dog....
Let's face it, dogs are the ultimate partner. They love you unreservedly, no vicious mood swings, always happy to see you, will protect you from threats.... til death us do part.
Have you ever seen a dog having a bad day or being rude to their owner ?
Nope !

Might be hard for the dog to sign the legal documents or say I do.
Of course the red neck FOX Fox commentator Billl fiddler O Reilly used to say that once gay marriage was accepted people would marry whales.
Just thinking where would you put the ring.?
I do know several people married to dogs but these ones have two legs.

What we are seeing is simply the evolution of society. As people become better educated and travel to see other cultures our own society (and most others) are gradually evolving to slowly wipe out racism and other prejudices. There is ever growing migration and inter marriage around the world. I foresee a world of equal yet different peoples (probably coffee coloured) who are tolerant of human differences when global integration reaches saturation.

Neil T Anderson is a best-selling author of 111 books on Christian evangelism, and founder of Church of Freedom in Christ Ministries, the group cited below. They are very bible oriented, but have learned to see deeper than previously, re LGBT folk.
