Aldi

Are we being treated like human beings by our Corporate Captains? Have they heard of the word 'compassion' or is greed the guiding light for them?

Aldi stores recently announced that
they will soon be supplying mostly organic products and
will ban many pesticides and toxic chemicals.

It'll be interesting to see their pricing !
From what I've seen in Coles & Woolies, if the word "organic" is mentioned at all on the packaging, the price doubles.

There are very strict rules and requirements for any product to be certified as "organic". Fields where crops are grown must be tested and proven to be free of chemicals, fertilisers, pesticides etc. There are certainly additional costs in obtaining the certification and ongoing to maintain it.
Having acknowledged that, I would also comment that there is not a lot of scientific evidence to support the inference that organically grown/farmed products are any better for us or are nutritionally superior to non-organically grown. I think it is just another way for the business world to rip off consumers. :twocents-mytwocents:
