Only little people pay tax.

Are we being treated like human beings by our Corporate Captains? Have they heard of the word 'compassion' or is greed the guiding light for them?

Visions of the big miners and Murdock come to mind.

And it is how Amazon, completely legally, last year paid no corporation tax on its £2.9bn net UK sales.
Amazon’s profits from its UK online shoppers were funnelled into Luxembourg – widely considered to have an extremely opaque financial and tax system.

This was taken from G/DS posting:

It's not just Australians ... it's a world-wide problem, likely impossible to solve:

Oxfam claims $18.47 trillion held in tax havens as EU leaders meet to discuss solutions

... and no, it's not Tony's fault and there is probably nothing either he or Joe can do about it.

It's the little people who get caught and draw the most attention when they really only put a quit or two away.
Don, yes it happens all over the world but there are possibilities to stop it. Don't think any government would like to take the first step, because that would cut off their nose to spite their face!
If I remember correctly, a year or so ago America estimated that about $US30 trillion of American money was sitting in off shore accounts. I think I could easily survive on just the interest alone, hey?

Aw shucks GF

Looking at the monthly budget statement from the Department of the Treasury, in fiscal 2013, year-to-date (that’s October 2013 to this April), the U.S. government has already paid interest of $227 billion on its national debt. For the entire fiscal year 2013, the government expects to pay a little more than $420 billion in interest payments. (Source: U.S. Department of the Treasury, Financial Management Service, May 10, 2013.)

If I calculate the amount of interest payments relative to the national debt outstanding, which is around $17.0 trillion, the U.S. government is paying interest on the national debt at the rate of about 2.5%. :- :- :- 8-[ 8-[

Well dukey, there you are. I could live off that amount quite reasonably and even have a moonshine or two. Don't you think?
