Flu jabs, 2016

Post by Perrorist » 27 Apr 2016, 07:18

This year's flu jab provides immunity from four strains of this debilitating disease. I had mine last week, and recommend you do the same before the flu season begins shortly.

Already done. Not only saves me from a lot of unpleasantness, but stops me from spreading it around! :happy-sunshine:

I've been getting them annually for 6 years, and I've never had the flu in that time.
Let's hope they keep working.

We both found this year's injection was a bit 'rougher' than most previous years, as we both felt a bit under the weather for 4 days.
Still worth having though :happy-sunshine:

Flu doesn't follow an annual cycle, but more like a three-yearly one. I know this from working at Wyeth years ago, trying to computerise their production operation.

We both had our shots a couple of weeks ago. No side effects or symptoms thank goodness.
It's the first time for years that my arm hasn't swollen up or gone red.
It's really worth having the shot, as the flu is to be avoided on account of the risk of pneumonia etc., which can lead to death for oldies. :good_luck

Sure is a worthwhile effort to have your flu injections each year.
This year was the first time I had some side effects which lasted appx 6 days but were bearable.
Any such sufferings certainly are worth the benefits these shots are providing, especially if you are a vulnerable subject!

Go for it, it's worth it!

As we grow older, our capacity for recovery diminishes. One bout of 'flu can be one too much. My mother died just from a chest infection. She was 93.

it be natures way of seeing the oldies off. :teary :teary
