Flu vaccine: How effective is it?

How can we improve the prognosis for our maturing Australians? Suggestions, ideas, proposals for better social and health issues, including retirement accommodation, etc.

Hmm :thinking:

.......and here's me thinking that my flue shot gave me total protection when this article says maybe 50% protection.
I'm also wondering why Aboriginal and Torres Strait people get it for free.
Kinda smacks of reverse discrimination if others have to pay for it.

As seniors especially if we have the common senior ailments diabetes , heart issues circulation it seems best we have the shots. I have not had flu since having my annual jab but i am no expert.

I must agree with you Mavis! We have been having shots for a long time now, and have NOT caught the flu yet. We are about due to have another shot, and this reminds me to go and make an appointment.

It's protected me over the years. I get the occasional head cold and even a touch of bronchitis, but never the flu.
