I only just found TWO updates from Jack & Jude which got lost amongst about 155 other emails that arrived during my absence.
I sincerely apologise to our friends for not posting these earlier. Sorry Jack & Jude!
:embarrassed:

--------------------

Update 49A

Last year June to June we sailed nearly right around Australia, notching up lots of miles that were made even more testing by Jude breaking her leg in the Kimberley. This year since Christmas we’ve taken things far more easier. Smelt the roses you could say.
After Hobart's Wooden Boat Festival we return to Tasmania's west coast aboard the Jane Kerr with the maestro Garry Kerr at the helm. That set up a summer as live-aboard land-folk with loaned wheels alongside a mate’s jetty whenever we were not up the Gordon River tramping World Heritage forests. All up, we made four expeditions into the forests including nearly a week camped in the thick stuff searching for an elusive bridge and historical track.
But after five fantastic months afloat in Tasmania we were wearing at least three jumpers, a beanie, plus the boat heater going whenever the sun was lost or the wind blew fresh. Therefore late in May we booked flights back to home base. In one last fling, during our last week in Strahan, as tagalong helpers we once again joined the film crew of “Two Men in a Punt” to record additional scenes requested by the producer.
We've securily moored our lady in Tasmania and flown back to home base for some sunshine, family and getting our bodies in shape for next summer. Hope you've enjoyed reading our blog and found our website useful.
Fair winds and Blue Skies,
Jack & Jude

Update 50A

Back to home base.
Wow, we’ve been back at the shack three weeks now and are still more or less confined to ground zero. It’s been a disaster so far. Here’s our news: http://jackandjude.com/log/

Fair winds and Blue Skies,
Jack & Jude

Hello godfather and all Silver Peers, I wouldn't say our news is very newsy at the moment. Ordinary stuff fixing up the house and playing with the grandkids. But unexpected good news of last week has given us BIG smiles, and hope that we Australians can in fact do the right thing for Earth and her creatures.

We had an awesome six months in Tasmania last summer and spring. Spent a fair bit of it up the Gordon River snooping round the rainforest looking for a long lost historical track. Jude came out of it perfectly, but I busted my knee a bit so I'm hobbling a little and complaining a lot!

We'll be heading south to again live life afloat in November or so. We have a bit more snooping to do, and then we just might sail north out of Tasmania before it starts getting cold and stormy again. Till there's more news, be wishing you all fair winds.
Cap'n Jack and Master mate Jude.

I just received another update before the two bushrangers get out of contact for appx one month.
They are going where Telstra and Optus have not been yet!

Try and find time to read this and look at these amazing pictures.

Jack looks a bit worse for wear in one pic but they do seem to enjoy themselves.
The workload they must go through seems harder than 2 hrs in the gym each day!

True Slapsy but I believe that you would need to be extremely fit and dedicated to survive a life at sea.
Jude & Jack have been sailing for many, many years and I have read some of their horrible situations they had to battle through.

I wish them God speed and safe sailing, and....YES.... I am jealous of their adventures but I also know my limitations!

Here is the latest from our valiant sailors and I am a little shocked.
It reads like Jack and Jude are hanging up the sails for good and intending to settle on dry land.
Maybe I am reading it wrongly and perhaps another member can clarify the story for me.

Jack & Jude's achievements have been amazing and I will always admire their zest for an active life.
