Dementia home allows couple to stay together

Post by Dreamweaver » 30 May 2017, 06:24

Mary has dementia and Barry has had several strokes, but thanks to a special group home they are able to continue living together after 61 years of marriage. Lateline visited the home, which is designed to recreate a familiar atmosphere, reminding residents of their lives before dementia. Carers are called homemakers and don’t wear uniforms, and residents are able to create their own routines.

Thank you for the link DW. I hope that couple can be as happy as possible in that home.
Dementia is a cruel disease. I have had several friends who developed it. It's hell for them, but worse hell for their loved ones.
