Been out of action for a while but back now hopefully ..

Post by Lauren » 05 Jan 2017, 22:26

Have been a bit out of action with my iron overload prob and neropathy.. there is nothing
to take that will ease the pain tried heaps of things ,, I did get a prescription from the doc
but declined to take it as it makes you go mad was one of the side effects so I thought pain is worse
than going crazy .. anyway will spend time here reading up and posting at least it takes my mind off
other things .. Hope every one had a nice Christmas and Happy New Year to each and every one ..
hope its a better year for us all .. :happy-sunshine:

Welcome back, Lauren. So sorry to hear of your problems and hope that you will find at least a little relief by posting and reading on the forum. I'll go take a look at your 'old film' links now.

Sorry you are not well Lauren.
Pain is a terrible nagging thing. I agree with you about being worried by the side effects of the prescription medicine. Sometimes it's better to use our own common sense.
As I am not a DR. I won't suggest anything to take, BUT maube some of the more common pain killers would take the edge off it a bit?
All the best my dear. :bear_hug

Good to see you on deck, Lauren, and hope this year will bring better luck. Have the doctors suggested donating blood regularly? This link is to a family who have inherited the gene, and the first 14 minutes is just about background. If you skip to 14 it comes to sections you might be more interested in.

Thanks Dreamweaver for your post and also others as well ..
I don`t blood every three months to get the ferriton level down and it went right down to the trouble
that I depleted all my iron stores so was unable to donate for a year or so which made the ferriton rise again but
went last December again and now just starting to feel the benefits of it.. anyway I`ll be ok and I`ll read up
all the health things I can and of course read over posts in this forum it helps takes the pain or keeps your mind
off it is a better word..
Turmeric is what I have found to be good and also Magnesium B12 and celery so thats a start .. ..
Thanks again .. :happy-sunshine:

Hi Lauren and all. Nice to see you.

I am also in real pain every day with a very bad headache resulting from Spondylitas of my neck. I have taken 3 Panadene Forte and sometimes a bit more when VERY bad pain, every day, for years and years, resulting in my Liver now complaining so much, I am told I need to get off them and onto Morphine patches.

I am so sick of pain every day but hate the meds.

What to do what to do (yes I believe Euthanasia is going to be o.k. in Vic. this year) but still enjoying life with my wonderful husband but it is difficult this constant pain every day so I know what you are feeling Lauren.

p.s. if this is not allowed here kindly move it Moderator.
Thanks.
Phyl.

Sorry Phyl to hear of your bad state. I hope you give the morphine patches a go, even though you hate the idea. A friend of mine has benefited greatly from them, and they're not addictive. Do let us know how you go.

Thank you so much Dreamweaver. I got a real fright when my Doc. said "Morphine Patches would be better".
Waiting for blood test results tomorrow so will go from there.

Welcome back Lauren and better health for you and Phyl in 2017 and beyond!

I have had many years of ill health and lots of pain but speaking of euthanasia is just not my cup of tea.

Think about it, and your grandies etc, I don't believe they would understand.

Chin and bum up guys and head down and keep on laughing...........that will drive the cobweb away!

Constant and debilitating pain makes life miserable and NOBODY should have to suffer it. I would have a good talk to your GP (both of you) and at least try anything that is available. Morphine, cannabis, codiene - absolutely ANYTHING that will help - you owe it to yourselves and those who love you.
