Here is a Buddist view of the question.

This snippet is from Theosophy that described by
Madam Helana Blavatsky and I quote.
the mind and the brain are not one and the same. The brain is only an organ, a material vehicle, through which the mind is able to function and operate on the physical plane. The mind does not require or use the brain when it functions on other, non-physical planes of existence. The brain only lasts for the duration of one lifetime but the mind continues on. The mind and the ability and action of thinking are something metaphysical, not physical or material.

Yes I like that and believe it to be true, for a larger part of the subject visit Her page. \:D/

The ability of people to delude themselves has no bounds.

"The ability of people to delude themselves has no bounds"

That's definitely the state of conciousness I find in most people I meet Buck. :icon-mrgreen:

Wikipedia:
Helena Petrovna Blavatsky was a Russian occultist, spirit medium, and author who co-founded the Theosophical Society in 1875.
In other words, she was delusional.

That is a belief, a belief that extends I suppose about all religions, globally. Many would agree with it, many disagree, as we do about any belief.
The word 'theosophy' means 'thought about God', and she made a study of world religions, looking for commonalities, before coming to her own beliefs. She did not preach anything, but was largely responsible for the Theosophical Society.
No acceptance of particular beliefs or practices is required to join The Theosophical Society. All in sympathy with its three Objects are welcomed as members.

The three declared Objects of the Theosophical Society:

. . .To form a nucleus of the universal brotherhood of humanity, without distinction of race, creed, sex, caste or color.
. . .To encourage the comparative study of religion, philosophy and science.
. . .To investigate unexplained laws of nature and the powers latent in humanity.
