In this issue of The Australia Times Poetry #emagazine we bring you work from #poets in #Australia and around the world, and who better to lead off but our own much loved Henry Lawson and his delightful poem of The Blue Mountains that he wrote in 1888.

We then have some work from our Aussie bush poets, Heather Knight, The ScribblyBark Poet, Dudley Pye and Allan Cropper and a beaut interview with Allan as well. We also have a previously unpublished and rediscovered poem from poet Blue Rigby, I do hope our readers are enjoying this little insights into what makes some of our poets tick. We have poets from around the world sharing with us, and it is a privilege to be able to share their work through our Aussie #e-zine Please share our link to help get our poetic voices heard - all of our magazines are free for your reading pleasure - all you need to do is sign in with your email address, indicate which of the 30+ mags you wish to view and away you go....http://www.theaustraliatimes.com/magazi ... issue/420/

The wildflowers are blooming across Australia right now - good rains have ensured a great show. So what better poem to start the magazine than WILD FLOWERS OF AUSTRALIA ...written by Caroline Carleton in 1811 - a delightful poem that has stood the test of time, followed by THE CALL OF THE OUTBACK by our own Western Australian poet Terry Piggott ... lots of good reading as always in this issue.

After the events of the last fortnight across the world I suspect that we all perhaps need some good #poetry to uplift our souls, in a world that seems filled with war, suffering and sadness - when everything else crumbles into dust, poetry remains.
Another issue chock a block full with a variety of poetry styles from poets around the world. Our lovely front cover is of #Uluru surrounded by #wildflowers

You are welcome Teddy - Poetry is meant for sharing and the mag has poets from around the world as well as our Aussie poets contributing. I am delighted you like the front covers - most are just from Mum and Dad photographers - it is a great way to share images of our wonderful country.

This is our Christmas issue of the Mag and we have one more to put out before the end of 2016 - so 26 issues in total for the year ....and I couldn't have done it without your help. Your generosity in sharing poems, photographs, personal interviews and insights has been greatly appreciated. Myself and my team - Loretta, Ben, Joyleen and Shalimar and the TAT group extends seasons greetings to you all. Our first issue for 2017 - Happy New Year to all of our Silver Peers members. In this issue we have work from 4 of our younger poets and our gorgeous front cover is a photo taken by Leonie Parker of the iconic Glasshouse Mountains on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. The Mountains were named by Captain James Cook in 1770, back in the days when good old England was sending its convicts over the seas to the colonies. We have some poetry in this issue that touches on those early days of our settlement as well. We are taking submissions now for February/March editions and any of our Silver Peers members who are also perhaps closet poets are very welcome to submit their work to our magazine. We cover all genres of poetry as long as the work is family friendly and the writing of good quality.
Lots of enjoyable reading to while away an hour or so - so relax, kick off your shoes and enjoy.

We have work from some poets who are new to TAT in this issue - and they are very welcome to our magazine. With bushfire season on us again Frank Prem's poems in particular strike a chord - Frank and his family had personal experience with those 2009 fires, and his poem Old man roo returns reminds us that it is not just humans who pay the price each year.. Any of our SP's with a poetic bent are welcome to submit work for consideration. I am currently taking submission for March/April editions of the magazine. Our mags are free to read - all of them - simply sign in with an email address .https://www.theaustraliatimes.com/magaz ... issue/503/
