Who was Barnaby up against? A ragtag bunch of hopefuls. Labour couldn't even be bothered to campaign. He should have won with a large majority after Windsor said he wouldn't stand against him.

John Alexander has decent opposition, unlike Joyce. Labor has a good chance of taking Bennelong, although the polls are saying she's a point or two behind at the moment.

Re: barnaby joyce
I don't believe that Barnaby could have lost N.E. with a flood of 17 contestants lining up in total.
The odds would have been massively in favour of Joyce.

In this instance, I believe that Barnaby got EXACTLY what he deserved and that is a true rarity in politics.

Well, he was originally elected with a solid majority and I believe that he had no idea of his potential NZ citizenship. He was caught up in a witch-hunt and did the right thing by stepping aside. I believe that he acted honourably and correctly and his election victory was the best and most appropriate outcome.......just sayin'.

I thought old BJ was going to explode in Parliament yesterday.
I've never seen him looking so flushed with righteous indignation before.

As a group, pollies are remarkably lacking in self-awareness, blind to their own faults while condemning the same qualities in others.

It was the arrogance he displayed, before and after, that disturbed me.
