In what way is it dicky? Have you perhaps twisted it? If you're overweight, it might just need a rest.

My knees feel like a couple of seized wheel bearings that need a good spray with WD40 to loosen 'em up.
feel worst after a nights 'rest', tho i do toss and turn a lot fighting termites in my dreams.
Lifetime of wear and tear i guess.
i think my sloppy fitting riding boots are not helping either.
I have noticed my very comfortable Keen walking boots are very kind to my knees.

It's not bad for an over-the-counter thing.
Failing that, gargle with whisky then swallow !

I tried something from the U.S. recently.... it was "Active somethingorother"......tiny little bottle and you take three drops a day in fruit juice. It worked and my joint pain almost disappeared. The downside was that the "tiny bottle" cost about $65 Aust and as soon as I stopped taking it, the pain was back.

Buck, that sounds like Osteoarthritis which is very painful during colder weather.
Temporary relief via many medications but permanent relief only by knee operation.
Too much exercise is detrimental and rest is much more helpful!

Buck, you're right about boots. The cartilage has worn from my knees, they're just bone on bone. I go to Athlete's Foot for my shoes. They test which part of your foot bears most weight, can tell how to correct strain on the knee, give it support. I go occasionally to a myotherapist who gives a deep massage to affect the myelin sheaths of the nerves. I take (available over counter) Glucosomine with Chondroitin for slow long term benefit (cartilage replacement), and Panadol Osteo when needed for slow release daily benefit, when needed.
I dream, therefore I am.

Hi Ruth, just interrupting quickly, aren't you on Warfarin as well?
I was warned not to take Glucosomin/Chondroitin when on Warfarin.

Please make sure.
