Plants

Post by mavisbramston » 07 Jul 2017, 10:33

I love roses. They are sturdy and beautiful. Secondly daphne. Smells and looks beautiful. Sturdy grows almost any where but does not do well in pots and from my experience must NEVER be cut back. It never recovers.
Love to know your favourite plants?
Maybe you have grown daphne in pots or succesfully cut it back.

Daphne does have the most beautiful scent. They can be pruned after they flower like most plants. A friend has one which she planted in her garden in the 60s! 🌺

My favourites at the moment are all types of succulents which I grow in pots and they have such lovely flowers which the birds really love. Best of all they hardly need any water!

I found daphne is fine in a large pot in a permanent position - doesn't like change.
I never found need for pruning, but the flowers can be happily picked, cuttings taken, etc.

I dream, therefore I am.
