Lest we forget

But we did forget sadly.
Idiots still elect fascists and bullies wage wars .
Saddest of all, people vote for them and follow them.

That is the problem with compulsory voting. We dont get to vote for candidates we want.... only those political hacks that the parties thrust upon us. I can understand why so many vote "informal" or dont vote at all.

Our first-past-the-post voting system is the problem.

In first past the post elections is it normal to have follow-up voting when the winner gets less than 50% of vote? Where the majority of voters have not voted for the winner? For instance, if A gets 30%, B gets 35%, C gets 15%, D gets 20%. Then B is first past the post with a minority vote.
I dream, therefore I am.

I prefer the proportional representation model.
