I wouldn't think about eating a pie with anything other than tomato sauce. Except,of course,a nice cold schooner of black beer to chase it all down.
The punters know that the horse called Morality rarely gets past the post, whereas the nag called Self-interest always runs a good race. ..... Gough Whitlam 19/10/89

Oooooooh Betty! I love that too.

I like to eat pork pie with mustard and pickled onions. I did buy some really good Tassie made pork pies once but think they may have gone out of business.

Is the brown sauce you mention HP sauce Betty? Also do you like Bramston pickles? Is that correct. I tried them in UK and they were nice.
Actually I liked most English food despite what food snobs say.
The only exception for me was Kendal Mint cake. Diabetic night mare lol.

Re: Uk friends might help
I grew up to the smell of the HP sauce factory and when they sold out to 'whoeveritwas' and the iconic HP sign disappeared from the factory building, so many Birmingham people swore it would never pass their lips again. There was quite a hooha about it. I wonder if they still refuse to buy it? But honestly, what else do you put on a bacon sandwich?!?
Every day when I was at work in Birmingham I used to go to Marks & Spencers foodhall to get a cheese and Branston Pickle sandwich. I love that stuff with cheese!

English foodfor years got abad wrap and it was unfair. Some of the traditional food is delicious eg a good English roast beef with yourkshire pud. The real ones not the short cuts lol

I've bought Branston Pickle here, but it's getting harder to find.
