Hi DW, no one can guarantee you that the site is safe and/or genuine.
However, I've just spent an hour reading several posts, articles and statements about the project he is presenting.
It all sound/reads well and on the face of it I would probably trust the guy.
It is a noble effort providing the details he is offering and the advice, information attached to it.
I will do some more searching tomorrow or next week to get a bit more insight.
According to his itinerary he will be on the Gold Coast in early April for some convention.
If that is true, then we should probably give him some credit for what he is doing!

I've used that site occasionally over the years. It's reputable. However, no site can truly be considered "safe", because hackers can hijack it without the owner knowing.

If you really want to get some privacy into your browsing, just ditch "google" as your search engine and instead use "Duck Duck Go".
Another tool in your arsenal is to use "Brave" browser.... combine these two suggestions and you're well on the way to being safer and more private.
