Some comments from America -
1. Our Real Justice candidate, Joe Gonzales just became the new District Attorney of San Antonio! He ousted a HORRIBLE DA to win. He’s a truly compassionate man and is going to reform the justice system there from the inside out. Thank you so much to our staff, volunteers, and donors for helping to make this happen.
2. : Antonio Delgado (@delgadoforcongress) just defeated a Republican incumbent congressman in a Trump district and just flipped a red seat blue in upstate New York. Antonio is a BRILLIANT brother, a Rhodes Scholar, Harvard Law grad, and is as principled as it gets. Conservatives literally tried to call him a rapper the whole campaign because he rhymed some in college. I kid you not. Anyway, you are going to hear a lot from him. He’s a star.
3. A huge congratulations to our two Native women who have been elected to serve in Congress, Debra Haaland and Sharice Davids!! Glass ceiling shattered!!!!
4. Rashida Tlaib (@rashidatlaib) just became the first Muslim woman EVER elected to Congress. She’s a transformative leader - deeply principled and connected to the people. This is HISTORIC.
5. Congrats to @BernieSanders on just winning reelection to the United States Senate. Thank you so much for your lifetime of service man. Let's keep on pushing!
6. It’s official! Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@ocasio2018) just became the youngest woman EVER elected to Congress!!! And she’s badass. Having her in DC is an absolute game changer.
7. Ilhan Omar (@ilhanmn) just became the first Somali-American EVER elected to Congress. She’s a brilliant, transformative, compassionate leader. A game changer.

Ilhan Omar is also Muslim, so that's two in Congress.

It's worth remembering that two out of three young people voted Democrat. There'll be a lot more of them in two years time (and correspondingly fewer old fogies, who tend to vote red*).

*In the US, they have the colours the other way round.

Just to show how screwed the US electoral voting system is:

For the Senate:
Democrats: 40,558,262 (55.5%)
Republicans: 31,940,056 (43%)

The Republicans gained 3 seats.

Trump is now blaming the Californian wildfires on "gross mismanagement" of forestry and firefighting capabilities there. He is threatening to withdraw Federal funding if they dont fix it. The jackass now thinks he can bully natural disasters. :yeah_right

He's blaming the state when the national forest is a federal responsibility. Trump is truly an ignorant man.

If we consider Trump on the world stage as we would a poster on this (or any other) forum, he is actually a narcissist and a troll. He makes wild and unsubstantiated claims and statements and routinely insults and humiliates his enemies, He also ignores criticisms and when challenged on statements he has made, he blames others or changes the subject. I think he just enjoys upsetting people and will do or say anything to get a response and I really think he doesn't care whether that response is positive or negative. Sadly, there just might be enough rednecks, bigots and "deplorables" in the U.S. to re-elect him in 2020. :teary

His latest popularity rating was 32.5%. That's not a good sign, which together with losing the House has made him very angry. I dread to think what he'll do or say next.

Have you noticed how the approaching invasion from Nicaragua that had Trump all fired up before the mid-term elections has now dropped off the radar. Just as I expected.

You have to wonder why the media allowed themselves to be played by this obvious election ploy.
It wasn't just Fox News giving it plenty of news space.

On a different note, have you noticed how Donald and Melania Trump never speak to each other in public, at least since he became president? If any communication takes place, I doubt it's initiated by her. That thought crossed my mind when I saw a video grab recently of Obama and Michelle where they were chatting amiably. What a contrast.

He spent $200 million sending 6000 troops to the border, just as an election stunt.

For the last two years, Trump has been getting away with murder by relying on peoples respect for the office of the President. He has spouted outragous claims, accusations without facts to back them up and has criticised and insulted his own intelligence community, the FBI, the American Judicial system, the Federal Reserve and even the Constitution. The honeymoon is over however and many who have remained silent in the past, including fellow Republicans are now challenging and speaking out againt him. He has built a well earned reputation as a moron, a liar and cheat whose only interest is America's (and his own) wealth. I think the remaining years of his Presidency will be interesting indeed.
