A predictable but bad choice

Post by mavisbramston »

I am surprised no one in the media is questioning Amy Coney Barret.
People are saying how wonderful it is that she is a woman and a mother!
What kind of mother would accept a nomination from a man who separates children from their parents in detention?. It must be horrifying for little children.
What kind of woman would accept a nimination from a man who boasts about grabbing women by, as he says, their pussy and laughing about it.?

This is before I get started on her views on climate, LGBT, and the rights of women to choose.
She is a real sweet heart of the far right.

Her nomination is definitely being questioned, just not by the right-wing elements of the news media (which is most of it).

She is a member of a cult, People of Praise. She believes she owes an higher allegiance to her religion than the law when forming legal judgements. She believes wives should be subservient to their husbands (try telling that to my wife!) and she's opposed to abortion, contraception, and gay marriage, and she's in favour of capital punishment.

Hardly the kind of person who should be elevated to the Supreme Court.

I fear a reversal of the Roe vs Wade.
I am absolutely pro choice.
I fear young women will once again put themselves in danger.
Back yard abortions using coat hangers detergent and a other sinister methods

I don't trust her not to be guided by her beliefs.

The Senate hasn't voted yet, but they will endorse her, that's for sure. Biden is a stickler for tradition, so it'll be interesting to see how he will deal with the new Supreme Court if he becomes president.
