Memory of the Suffragettes!

Post by Trishia » 11 Jun 2018, 09:34

Every time I vote, I think of the sacrifices the poor suffragettes made, just so Women could get the right to vote. I think it's great that they are remembered.

1918? They knew they had the right, and nothing was going to stop them. After all, NZ allowed women to vote in 1893, while the King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia granted women the right to vote in 2011.
Good strong ladies! =D=

I believe a woman had to be 30 yrs old to vote though and it took another 10 years to get equality with men when they lowered voting age for women to 21 yrs old. How hard they had to fight for it all too.
