And for very good reasons. I doubt that I will ever return to England but if I should be so lucky... :happy-sunshine:

I got only 10 days in England, mainly London but two excursions - Bath, Stonehenge, Salisbury Cathedral, and Dover, Leeds Castle of Queens, Canterbury Cathedral. It would be great to go back, but it's not on the books.

I spent 2 weeks in Eastbourne about 44 years ago now.
I went to visit my daughter who was living there at the time.
I managed to see all the sights, and even caught the Eurostar train to Paris, where I spent a whole day walking around.
It was all magic to me at the time.
I learned a lot about how things work in London and the UK. I had a peculiar feeling that I had been there before.
I went on a lot of train trips and saw a lot of things that I had only read about.

Looks very nice, Betty. :icon_biggrin: Never been to Harwich, nearest I got was Southend.

The closest I got was Felixstowe, where our Finnish cargo ship docked. We had our six-month-old first-born with us and were the only passengers. That was in 1973. We'd just spent a year in Finland. A lot has changed since then.

I wish I'd seen more of the UK when I actually lived there!

Thanks Betty. It looks like a lovely place to live.

I went back to England after 25 years away and couldn't believe how much it had changed. That was 20 years ago.

Yes, I was there in 1985. It isn't only England that has changed. I've changed drastically from those heady days.

Yes Warrigal!
By the time I went back in '91 I'd become a Tasmanian and it was certainly different to the life I was now used to. The main thing was the green green grass and there were so many new cars. No old bangers like in Tassie. :icon_biggrin:
