AUSTRALIAN ROO DELIVERY
and headed on out to the scrub,
the animals all waved and bid him g'day,
and offered to share drink and grub.
A red kangaroo with a bub in her pouch
said "Santa it's too hot to day
for the reindeer, why not let them rest and just slouch,
have a feed and give that sleigh away.
And kind Mrs Platypus offered to watch
over Joey the small kangaroo,
whilst his mother and other roos helped Santa out,
which is something that Aussie mates do.
Old Santa was grateful - the reindeer were too
and Santa enjoyed billy tea,
with a slice of plum duff to just finish it off
whilst resting underneath a gum tree.
The possums were quiet, just taking it in
for reindeer were not something they'd seen,
and the pink Major Mitchell just squawked and chattered
to the red king parrot who then screamed
at the white cockatoo and the kookaburra,
who he never got on with before.
Until old Santa said - " That's enough now my friends
we need peace on this earth - not more war."
And so chastened, ashamed of themselves, the birds sat
and listened to the conversation.
The koalas gave some directions for points west
whilst the roos checked the maps calibration.
Once they knew 'twas correct, and with Santa on board
they took off with a leap and a bound
and it seems that they must have done the job all right
'cause beneath my tree, guess what I found?
