Solar frustration

Post by mavisbramston »

Well no solar panels for us it seems!
Every one seems ok but us.

We have tried several companies but they all tell us we cannot have solar panels unless we replace ALL the tiles on our roof.
We have now tried three companies.
We want solar but unfortunately it is not going to be for us .
:hitting_wall
Any one else struck this problem.
Here is what the last company wrote to us (name etc withheld)

“As you had been advised from the other solar company, you would have grid the tiles to be able to install the bracket. Doing this could crack the tiles or they could actually crack over time due to heat expansions.

They only way I see a possibility of the installing solar panels on your property, is having the roof tiles replaced with alternative tile or tin(Colorbond)”

I can imagine your frustration, Mavis. Have you tried thinking "outside the box"? Could you get away with just replacing the tiles where the brackets need to be fixed? they would probably be out of sight under the solar panels. MUST the panels go on the house roof? do you have a free standing garage or other structure that might house them?...... Just trying to come up with possible alternatives.
