If I go to the smallest things I'm only half way down the scale when I run out of things visible to a microscope, and going towards the largest they become unimaginably large not too far from the middle!

Maybe I have mentioned this before .... an old ** science teacher once told me, in an attempt to give the Universe some understandable scale, that I should imagine our Solar System to be one atom in the hind leg of a dog that was barking at a Moon.

** on second thoughts, maybe he wasn't as old as I am now. think-smiley
The last interglacial had less ice, higher sea levels, and warmer temperatures than this one. So, according to the evidence so far, human activity must have a COOLING effect.
