there is no god

Post by Buck_naked » 18 Nov 2014, 17:33

Finally, stephen hawking settled the argument last night on SBS:
There is no god. never has been.never will be.
Millions have died for nothing. heretics, witches, peter dawkins all is forgiven.
so let the burning begin....

Stephen Hawking has found a way to prove a negative?
If that is a true statement then Hawking must be God.
Therefore he is wrong. QED.
If you don't have an ASIO file by now then you should be ashamed of yourself.

It matters little what we think because there is life,
the problem with Hawking is he's one of many that
if they can't see or touch it they will not believe it,
someone once said nothing comes from nothing if so
prove it.

The brain mind whatever we call it cannot even grasp
the magnitude of infinity and reduces a supreme intelligence
to a singularity, what did Jesus mean when he said in my fathers
house there are many mansions, and :heeheehee i don't think he
was talking about todays MacMansions now go in peace infidels.

John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. [-o<

Before Hawking states there is no God, he should define who or what God is. Most, or all, of us have limited concepts.

Paul at Athens:-
But one altar among the many caught his attention. On it were inscribed the words “TO AN UNKNOWN GOD.” In their ignorance, the Greeks had erected an altar to whatever god they might have inadvertently left out of their pantheon.

Since the Greeks obviously didn’t know who this god was, Paul explains that this “unknown god” was the biblical God, the Creator of heaven and earth, who does not dwell in temples made with hands. Actually, God is the Source of life for all nations, and He is really the One they were unwittingly seeking. Paul says God is near; in fact, “in him we live and move and have our being”

With ordinary people, we can know someone without knowing all about them. We can even know they exist without seeing them.

The lengths that people will go to in sustaining their beliefs is incredible,
murder, mass killing, beheadings.
such is the power of the cult and self delusion.
all religions are cults established by men for the abuse and control of people, the main victims are women and children.

With or without religion, women and children are always victims.
In any warrior cult the weak fare very badly.

Of course you are right, Buck, but so is Warrigal

No. Most religions have been established with the highest ideals. It doesn't take long though for the followers to pervert them into otherwise.

I don't know who or what God is, but supposing God was the universe, in whom we live and breathe and have our being. Supposing we are the creation of the universe, in its image, ie from atoms, electrical and other energy sources. I don't think murder, mass killings, beheadings, and the various cult fantasies, enter into the question.
I dream, therefore I am.

I do not believe we are at a stage of intelligence to even consider
what the universe or the divine is all about, we arrived via the birth
process, we have very varied periods of life's experience some passing
on before others, we where born alone one might say it being an individual
experience, the same applies at Death no matter how many folks are present.

A snippet to quench thy thirst. [-o< [-o<
