RC into Institutional Child Sexual Abuse wraps up today

Post by Warrigal » 14 Dec 2017, 09:35

It is five years since this RC was established and because of this inquiry children will be better protected in future. The final report, with recommendations, will be published today.

It is now up to parliaments, federal and state, to take those recommendations seriously and make every necessary change in 2018. We should hold them to it and remind them that we haven't forgotten what was allowed to happen in the past.
If you don't have an ASIO file by now then you should be ashamed of yourself.

Now that is how a royal commission should work with results
thank you, Julia Gillard. :character-oldtimer:

A most welcome decision by the royal commission. Now all we have to do is to bring the catholic church into the 21st century, and force them by law, to do the right thing!
GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!

Not luck. Determination is what will be required.
I think the laity within the Catholic church will be pushing for change, and who knows, the Vatican may just have to give way on some matters because of this Australian RC.

If they don't they will see further decline in their numbers of practising catholics.

And Jenny Macklin who seems to have been very involved.
